Exhibition - "Life is beautiful... and I praise it myself"
At the exhibition are presented works of Kazimierz Wiśniak, from the first works arisen during Scenography Study at the Academy of Fine Arts (ASP) in Kraków, ending with the last so far, painted in 2016.
Kazimierz Wiśniak - scenographer, painter, illustrator, graphic designer, co-founder of the Piwnica pod Baranami. The creator of many scenographies for many theaters in the country and abroad. Scenographer at the J. Słowacki Theatre in Kraków, the National Old Theatre in Krakow, director of the Bagatela Theater. Associated with the Wroclaw Pantomime Theatre since the beginning of its foundation by Henryk Tomaszewski. Already during his studies at the Academy had been creating the pictures for "Przekrój" and with Piotr Skrzynecki created the first post-war comic under the title "Szaszkiewiczowa, czyli Ksylolit w jej życiu" - printed in "Przekrój".
He has been participated for years in international Confrontations Arts in Słonne near Dubiecko. His paintings are characterized by coloring, melancholy and references to folk motifs. He is the illustrator of many books including "Na rynku w Krakowie", "Piosenki, które śpiewali dziadkowie, gdy byli mali", "Piwnica pod Baranami" by Joanna Olczak-Ronikier. He is the author of books including "Z życia scenografa", "Życie ze sztuką splecione", "Wśród ludzi i zwierząt Lanckorony", "Powietrznicy w Lanckoronie: historia letniska".
